Hello, my name is Sue Burrell and I live in the lovely city of New Plymouth situated on the West Coast of the North Island under the shadow of Mt Taranaki.
My family moved here when I was young from the centre of the North Island and I have schooled, worked and brought up family for most of my life in New Plymouth. I am married to Craig and have four children, have two sons and two daughters.
Prior to having children, Craig and I spent several years working and travelling together throughout Europe and Asia using the United Kingdom as our base. Our oldest son, Tom, was born in London before we decided to return to New Zealand.
From 2002 – 2006 we lived in West Africa where my husband had secured an expat posting. This environment was very challenging with a young family. Security, Health and Education were all major considerations. From this experience I can appreciate the importance of social contact and support for new arrivals to a foreign country. A smiling face, assistance with questions and an invite for coffee, help to reassure and resettle the accompanying partner and family.
In recent years I have worked part-time in general office work based from home. I enjoy travelling, meeting people, golf, pilates, walking/trekking, gardening and reading.
Welcome to New Zealand. I look forward to making your resettlement in New Plymouth a positive and enjoyable experience.
